Concentrix told Mauritius staff in September 2026 it was ceasing operations there
On September 10, 2026, Le Mauricien reported that Concentrix had told employees at a meeting the week before that it would cease operations in Mauritius, where staff had already fallen from 870 to 320 as major clients left. The company's letter blamed financial difficulties, seven lost clients in six years and slipping competitiveness. Final closure was announced for November 25. The newest Concentrix filing in our tracker dates from 2021.

Concentrix layoff history
Concentrix put a number on its cost cuts in a note to its 10-Q for the quarter ended May 31, 2026. Cost reduction initiatives affected approximately 20,000 employees over the six months to that date, and the company booked $42.4 million in severance in the quarter and $60.2 million across the half. About $16.1 million was still owed at the end of May, which Concentrix expected to have substantially paid by November 30, 2026. Severance in the same months of 2025 wasn't material, the note says. It names no country, site or per-person formula, so anyone swept up in these cuts can't tell from it whether they're owed anything, or how much.
CEO Chris Caldwell described the quarter's restructuring in his own words on the June 29, 2026 earnings call. He said Concentrix "saw a path this quarter to accelerate the use of AI internally within our own organization and align our cost structure," and that this "drove a higher restructuring charge than we anticipated." He said the company wasn't done and expected to spend another $75 million on restructuring this year. Revenue per non-billable headcount rose 14% year on year, he said, and client pressure had "increased the urgency of moving work offshore." His February 2026 shareholder letter said 2025 investments let Concentrix keep moving business to its offshore delivery centers, and that it exited 2025 with over $60 million in annualized AI revenue.
For scale, Concentrix counted about 290,000 employees when fiscal 2021 closed and 455,000 on November 30, 2025. The count reached 440,000 in 2023, the year it closed its combination with Webhelp on September 25 in a deal valued at about $4 billion including net debt. The closing release didn't mention job cuts, and no WARN filing in our archives carries the Webhelp name.
Our WARN tracker holds 73 filings by Concentrix and units it owns, among them Convergys, Stream Global Services, Encore Receivable Management and Aditya Birla Minacs, listing 15,787 jobs across 18 states. Texas holds 16 of them and Utah 13. The newest is an April 28, 2021 notice for Laredo that listed 422 jobs, which leaves the tracker with no Concentrix filings in 2025 or 2026. It can't place the 20,000. It shows only that no state archive we collect holds a Concentrix filing from those two years.
When Convergys announced the closing of its Ogden, Orem and Cedar City call centers in 2017, it said workers could apply for work-at-home programs or transfer to another Convergys location. In Dublin in 2024, Concentrix said it was helping each affected person apply for other open positions during a 30-day consultation. The Tucson reporting from April 2019 says only that more than 100 workers stayed on other programs after three client programs closed. None of those rounds put severance terms on record, and none of these reports says anything about the terms in a 2026 Concentrix agreement.
If a move is on the table at a U.S. site, read the Labor Department's WARN guide before you answer. The federal rule reaches businesses of 100 or more full-time workers. Closing a site or unit brings it into play when 50 or more full-timers there are let go. Ahead of a covered mass layoff or plant closing, it requires 60 days' notice in writing, and missing notice may support a claim for back wages and benefits, 60 days' worth at most, depending on how many days you did get. Say Concentrix offers you a seat at another location as part of a consolidation, before the closing. If that seat sits within reasonable commuting distance, the guide says you haven't had an employment loss even if you say no, and one farther away becomes a loss only if you haven't accepted within 30 days. Before you decide, have the transfer terms, any severance figure and the date you must sign put on paper.

What to do after being laid off from Concentrix
- File for unemployment in the state where you worked. Benefits run from your filing date, and severance usually doesn't block you. Concentrix's biggest hubs: Texas, Utah. Somewhere else? Every state is here.
- Apply for financial and hardship assistance. Unemployment supplements income, but food benefits, health coverage and utility help are often available as well. Here's some of what Concentrix's hub states run: Texas, Utah, and every other state is here.
- Mind the health insurance window. Losing coverage opens a 60-day special enrollment period, and an ACA plan usually beats unsubsidized COBRA. Compare your options before the employer coverage lapses, and read how the COBRA clocks run if you are weighing it seriously.
- Get your real runway number. Severance plus savings divided by reality. The calculator takes five minutes.
- Know which clocks are already running. Severance review windows, COBRA election, visa grace periods, and 401(k) rollovers all run on federal deadlines that started at termination. All five deadlines are here.
Concentrix layoff and severance questions
Is Concentrix laying off employees in 2026?
Concentrix's 10-Q records severance for cost reduction initiatives that affected about 20,000 employees in the six months to May 31, 2026. In September 2026, Le Mauricien reported the company was ceasing operations in Mauritius, where 320 people worked. The note doesn't say where the 20,000 were, and nothing in our tracker carries a 2026 date.
How much severance does Concentrix pay laid-off employees?
No per-person terms are on record. The 10-Q gives a total, $60.2 million over six months. In Mauritius, one employee told Le Mauricien that staff had heard of Rs 15,000 per year of service but wasn't sure, so treat that figure as unverified. In the Utah and Dublin rounds, the company talked about transfers and open positions and put no package on record. None of that reveals what a 2026 offer contains, so ask for the amount, the date benefits end and the deadline to sign, all on paper.
Did Concentrix file WARN notices for its 2026 layoffs?
Not in any state archive we collect. Our tracker has nothing from Concentrix dated 2025 or 2026. It holds 73 all time from Concentrix and units it owns, the newest a Laredo, Texas notice dated April 28, 2021 that listed 422 jobs. Because the 10-Q's note doesn't locate the 20,000, nothing on record shows whether any U.S. site crossed WARN's thresholds.
Is Concentrix replacing workers with AI?
On the June 29, 2026 call, CEO Chris Caldwell tied a higher-than-planned restructuring charge to accelerating "the use of AI internally within our own organization" and aligning the cost structure, and said revenue per non-billable headcount rose 14%. He also said AI "has not significantly cannibalized our revenue" where clients adopted it. Neither his remarks nor the 10-Q's note says how many of the 20,000 were tied to automation.
What happened to Convergys employees after Concentrix bought it?
The Arizona Daily Star reported that after the $2.4 billion Convergys purchase, Concentrix announced hundreds of layoffs in places including Cincinnati, Charlotte and Watertown, New York. In April 2019 it planned to lay off up to 785 at the former Convergys site in Tucson after three client programs ended. Seventeen of the 73 filings in our tracker are dated October 2018 or later.
Where do I file for unemployment after being laid off from Concentrix?
In the state where you worked, not where the company is headquartered. Concentrix's biggest U.S. hubs are Texas, Utah. Severance usually doesn't block you from filing, and benefits run from your filing date, so file the same week.
Is it OK to file for unemployment after a layoff at Concentrix?
Yes. Unemployment insurance is funded by payroll taxes employers pay on wages, the claim never appears on credit reports or background checks, and future employers cannot see it. If the hesitation itself is the obstacle, whether filing is OK has its own article.
What happens to my health insurance after a layoff at Concentrix?
Your plan sets the end date rather than the law, so the separation packet is where that date actually lives, and it is often the last day of the month rather than your last day of work. After coverage ends, COBRA lets you keep the identical plan by paying the whole premium yourself, up to 102 percent of what the plan really costs, which lands as several times the payroll deduction you were used to. You get 60 days to elect, counted from the later of coverage ending or the election notice arriving, and electing reaches the coverage back to the day the old plan stopped so no gap exists. How continuation coverage works walks the timing, and whether to take it rather than a marketplace plan is a separate decision.
Should I sign the severance agreement right away?
First pin down how much review time you actually have. If you're 40 or older, federal law gives you 21 days to consider an agreement that waives age claims, 45 in a group layoff, and a waiver signed under a shorter deadline can be invalid. If you're under 40, no federal window applies and the deadline in your packet may be real, so confirm it in writing and ask for more time if you need it. Use whatever window you have to read the release terms, especially non-disparagement and no-lawsuit clauses, and don't stall past a real deadline, because offers can be withdrawn.
Can I collect unemployment if I got severance from Concentrix?
Usually yes, though some states delay benefits until severance pay periods end, and lump sums are treated differently than salary continuation. Check your state's rules on our state benefit pages, and file immediately either way so your claim date is locked in.
