The short version. We do not sell your data, we do not run ad networks, and we do not build profiles on you. This page explains the little we do collect and why.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to see which pages get read and where visitors come from, so we know what to write next. It sets cookies and collects the usual anonymized web data, your approximate location, device, and the pages you view. We never see your name or email through it. If you would rather not be measured, browser privacy settings and extensions that block Google Analytics work normally on this site, and nothing breaks if you use them.

When you contact us

If you send us a message through a form on this site, we receive the name, email, and note you type, and we use them only to read and reply. We do not add you to a mailing list without asking, and we do not pass your message to anyone else.

Links to other sites

A lot of what we do is send you to official state agencies, government programs, and primary sources. Once you leave this site, you are on their turf and their privacy practices apply, not ours. We link to official sources on purpose so you can skip the ad-heavy lookalikes, but we do not control what those sites do with your visit.

Your choices

You can browse this entire site without giving us anything. You can block analytics. To ask a question about your data, use the contact page.

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update this page. The current version is what applies.
