Laid off from DSV.

In Texas and Missouri in 2026, DSV's notices for customer warehouses said the next operator might hire many of the staff, with the work continuing there under another logistics company. UTi, a company DSV bought in 2016, wrote the same that year when it lost a customer.

The most recent DSV layoff we've found

DSV gave notice in late September 2026 that about 84 jobs at a customer's St. Louis facility at 120 E Grand Avenue would end on December 5 or within 14 days after, its Missouri WARN letter says, and Illinois's September report puts 175 Edwardsville layoffs on the same schedule, citing a lost contract.

What DSV layoffs have meant for employees

When DSV bought UTi in 2016, the cuts The Oregonian described fell mainly on IT workers within weeks of the deal, then mainly on finance and accounting staff at UTi's Portland office, which was left with about 60 people. DSV's description of the Schenker savings covers similar ground. Its H1 2026 report says they come from consolidating offices, back-office functions, finance and IT infrastructure, and logistics facilities in Road and Contract Logistics, expects total transaction and integration costs of about DKK 11 billion, of which about DKK 7.4 billion had been recognized by mid-2026, and expects to finish the integration as 2026 closes. That report also says Contract Logistics' results were influenced by a strategic focus on consolidating less profitable sites and by the ramp-up of new facilities, so the division was adding buildings as well as shedding them. If you hold an office, finance or IT job at a business DSV took over with Schenker, that year-end completion date is the schedule DSV itself has put on the consolidation.

In the customer-site notices that list job titles, as FreightWaves, DSV's St. Louis WARN letter and Transport Topics report them, forklift drivers were the largest group each time. Those notices pointed staff toward the operator coming in, and a job there would be with a different employer. FreightWaves cited research suggesting that contract logistics handovers sometimes lead to lower wages, and its general pay figures, which describe the market and not any incoming operator's offer, put Texas forklift operators at roughly $16 to $18 an hour against closer to $20 nationally and local contract drivers at large distribution centers at $55,000 to $70,000 a year. If the incoming operator offers you a job, comparing its hourly rate with your last DSV pay stub shows what the switch would cost or gain you.

DSV's St. Louis letter also says it's exploring transfer opportunities for some employees, alongside its belief that the successor provider will have openings for many, and it lists neither bumping rights nor a union for the people affected. DSV told the state it had notified the affected employees separately, so the letter to Missouri isn't the notice those workers received. If DSV offers you a transfer, the site, hours and pay that the offer names are what set it against anything the successor provider puts in front of you.

All four 2026 notices call the separations permanent, the two Edwardsville records in Illinois's April report and September report among them, and FreightWaves still read the Wilmer one as "suggesting a transition rather than a full closure of the site." If you have a DSV notice that says permanent, that word is about the DSV job, and at Wilmer and St. Louis DSV expected the work itself to carry on under the next operator.

If your DSV notice gives its separation date as a window, as DSV's St. Louis letter and Illinois's September report both do with "or within 14 days after," your last day could fall anywhere in that span, and a start date elsewhere inside it could overlap your final days at DSV.

How to apply for unemployment benefits is set out state by state for Texas, Illinois and Missouri, the three states DSV's 2026 notices went to. Older notices are listed in our WARN tracker by the names they were filed under, DSV Solutions, Schenker and UTi Integrated Logistics as well as DSV Contract Logistics. Schenker's 24 run from 2011 to 2024, all before DSV's April 2025 purchase, as DSV's completion release records, so a Schenker notice from those years was filed by a company DSV didn't yet own.

A sourced history of DSV layoffs

  • September 2026, St. Louis customer-site exit and Edwardsville lost contract

About 84 St. Louis jobs are tied to DSV's exit from a customer's facility, and DSV believes many will have opportunities with the successor provider, its Missouri WARN letter says. Edwardsville's 175 are at 3049 Westway Drive, per Illinois's September report.

  • April 2026, Edwardsville closing on Gateway Commerce Center Drive

DSV moved to close the site at 3051 Gateway Commerce Center Drive South, with 155 permanent layoffs from July 5 and relocation given as the cause in Illinois's April report.

  • April 2026, Wilmer, Texas warehouse contract exit

A notice FreightWaves described set DSV's exit from the 101 Mars Road warehouse after a lost customer contract, with 391 layoffs from April 30, 278 of them forklift drivers, and said most, if not all, could be offered jobs by the incoming operator.

  • 2025 to mid-2026, Schenker integration white-collar cuts worldwide

DSV said in an April 2025 release that Schenker's integration would now begin, and its H1 2026 report counted a reduction of more than 8,000 white-collar employees by mid-2026, with more than 60 countries integrated or integrating by then.

  • March 2024, Schenker's Carlisle, Pennsylvania warehouse set to close

Schenker, then a Deutsche Bahn unit, filed to close its warehouse at 45 Logistics Drive in South Middleton Township around March 10, cutting 478 jobs, 311 in electronic device screening, as the Central Penn Business Journal wrote.

  • 2016, UTi office cuts after DSV's purchase

Within weeks of DSV's January purchase, UTi laid off more than 40 people, mainly IT workers, The Oregonian reported, and in November it told Oregon that 96 more at its downtown Portland office, mainly finance and accounting staff, would go by May.

  • September 2016, UTi loses Sealed Air's warehouse contract to XPO

UTi set 200 layoffs, 128 of them forklift drivers, for January 15, 2017, when its Sealed Air contract was to end, in a Wisconsin letter Transport Topics reported on, and wrote that XPO, taking over the work, would likely hire many.

What to do if you're laid off from DSV

DSV layoff and severance questions

How many WARN notices has DSV filed?

Eight notices in our WARN tracker carry DSV's own names, among them all four from 2026, which cover 805 jobs across Texas, Illinois and Missouri. Schenker filed 24 more and UTi Integrated Logistics 8, both companies DSV has bought, according to its Schenker completion release and UTi's 2016 merger filing, so 40 match DSV from 2006 through September 2026.

What severance has DSV given laid-off employees?

FreightWaves' Wilmer report, DSV's Missouri WARN letter and the Central Penn Business Journal's account of Schenker's Carlisle closing all leave out any severance amount or formula. If DSV handed you separation paperwork, those pages are where a severance figure for you would be written down.

Will laid-off DSV warehouse workers get jobs with the new operator?

DSV said most, if not all, of its Wilmer staff could be offered positions by the incoming operator, according to FreightWaves, and its St. Louis WARN letter says DSV believes many there will find openings with the company taking over. In a 2016 letter Transport Topics covered, UTi expected XPO to hire many of the UTi staff at Sealed Air. Those were the companies' expectations, and any offer comes from the new operator on its own terms.

Did DSV cut jobs after buying DB Schenker?

DSV closed the purchase from Deutsche Bahn in April 2025, its completion release says, and its H1 2026 report put the drop in white-collar staff since the integration began above 8,000. That's a group-wide count with no US figure.
