Laid off from Kenvue.

Since leaving Johnson & Johnson in 2023, Kenvue has consolidated work, pulling operations into New Jersey and moving shared-service functions to lower-cost locations. Its pending sale to Kimberly-Clark adds a year of severance promises that the merger agreement says employees can't enforce.

The most recent Kenvue layoff we've found

Kimberly-Clark said on October 19, 2026 that it expects to complete its purchase of Kenvue in the fourth quarter, subject to customary closing conditions, in a release on its notes offering. Closing would also open the one-year window in which the merger agreement sets a severance comparison for Kenvue employees below the executive ranks who stay on through closing and are then let go without cause, or resign with good reason where a plan allows it.

What Kenvue layoffs have meant for employees

Kenvue has sized its company-wide cuts as percentages, and the filings behind them put more of the planned charges into IT and project work than into people. The May 2024 Form 8-K and the February 2026 Form 8-K set aside about 40% and about 35% of their charges for employee-related costs, with IT and project costs taking the larger share both times. Neither filing names a site or a country, so a share of a worldwide staff tells you little about any single office. The record does show which kinds of work were in play. The 2024 plan came as Kenvue's transition service agreement with J&J was winding down, Fierce Pharma reported, while Kenvue's June 2026 quarterly report says that plan centralized shared-service functions in lower-cost locations. The 2026 plan names the operating model and the supply chain as its targets, and it was well underway by mid-2026, with $147 million of its roughly $250 million estimate booked by June 28, the same report shows. If your job could be done from a cheaper hub, that's the part of the record that speaks to it.

For people in offices Kenvue was closing, the alternative on record was a move toward New Jersey, with relocation and jobs at other company locations offered when Neutrogena's Los Angeles office was slated to close, Bloomberg reported. The destination had cuts of its own. While disclosing a notice that scheduled cuts at the new Summit headquarters for late 2025, a Kenvue spokesperson told NJBIZ the company expected to end up with more New Jersey jobs than when it started once its consolidation from other states was done. That forecast covered the state as a whole, and it came months before the Summit layoffs were set to begin. If a transfer to New Jersey is on offer, those Summit cuts belong in the weighing, since moving toward the headquarters didn't keep the headquarters itself out of a notice.

The sale to Kimberly-Clark changes the severance picture for a set window only. The comparison the merger agreement adds starts at closing and lasts one year, so if your layoff date falls near the closing, it's worth knowing whether it lands before the deal closes or inside that first year. For people who stay on, the agreement also calls for commercially reasonable efforts to credit Kenvue service toward eligibility, vacation and severance under the combined company's plans, so years already worked aren't meant to start over. One question the agreement leaves open is whether Kenvue's 401(k) plans end the day before closing, which the two companies are to settle in good faith beforehand. If you have a balance there, that decision is worth watching for before the deal closes.

Before the 2023 split, the same consumer business filed its notices under other names, and those filings count toward Kenvue in our WARN tracker because the companies that made them belong to Kenvue now, McNeil Consumer Pharmaceuticals and Vogue International among them on Kenvue's 2025 subsidiary list. If your old paperwork carries one of those names, the notice covering your site could carry that name instead. When Vogue International's Phenix City center was closing in 2018, the city brought in Alabama's Rapid Response Team and lined up community college training and job fairs, according to the Citizen of East Alabama. The recent notices were filed in New Jersey and California, and each state runs its own unemployment program, covered for New Jersey and California.

What to do if you're laid off from Kenvue

Kenvue layoff and severance questions

What severance has Kenvue given laid-off employees?

Kenvue's June 2026 quarterly report counts $77 million booked and $43 million paid by June 28 for the 2026 plan's employee-related costs, chiefly severance and other termination benefits. Neither that report nor the merger agreement's severance provisions set out a per-person formula. If you're below the executive ranks and lose your job without cause in the year after the Kimberly-Clark deal closes, the merger agreement calls for severance no less generous than the better of your Kenvue terms and comparable Kimberly-Clark staff's, a promise employees can't enforce.

What happens to Kenvue employees after the Kimberly-Clark deal?

Kimberly-Clark agreed to buy Kenvue on November 2, 2025, and its October 19, 2026 release put a closing in the fourth quarter. In the year after closing, the merger agreement says Kenvue employees who stay are to get base pay and target bonus opportunities no less favorable than before. The same agreement says nothing in it prevents the combined company from ending any employee's job.

How many people has Kenvue laid off?

Kenvue announced both restructurings as shares of the global workforce, an expected net cut of about 4% in the May 2024 Form 8-K and about 3.5% in the February 2026 Form 8-K. Fierce Pharma estimated the 2024 plan could reach some 880 workers, from a staff it put at about 22,000 as 2023 ended.

How many WARN notices has Kenvue filed?

Kenvue and its subsidiaries have 12 filings in our WARN tracker, starting with a 1990 Illinois notice from Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products in Lemont. One of them is dated 2025 or later, covering 69 jobs at the Summit, New Jersey headquarters, with layoffs from October 10, 2025.

What happens to my Kenvue stock awards if Kimberly-Clark buys the company?

Under the merger agreement, Kenvue restricted and performance stock units outstanding at closing become Kimberly-Clark restricted stock units on the same terms, vesting included, with performance units counted at the greater of target and actual results. If you hold Kenvue options and have a qualifying termination after closing, vested options stay exercisable for up to a year, or until they'd have expired if sooner.
