Laid off from Legacy Supply Chain.
In 2026 Legacy Supply Chain lost a contract with a GE Appliances subsidiary, and its Georgia layoff filing says the new provider offered the drivers there jobs. The Teamsters local that organized Legacy drivers in Kentucky says drivers on GE's freight largely stay put when the contractor changes.

The most recent Legacy Supply Chain layoff we've found

What Legacy Supply Chain layoffs have meant for employees
Legacy's own pages describe its Louisville and Brea operations as fleets built for one customer apiece. The Louisville location page calls that site a customer-specific dedicated fleet hauling appliances and electronics, keeping regional warehouse freight moving across Kentucky and Indiana. The Brea location page puts more than 70 drivers and 60 tractors behind a large industrial manufacturer, running port drayage and store replenishment across Southern California, about 2,000 shipments a month. If you drove or loaded at a site like that, the customer's contract was what your job sat on, and a notice at one of these fleets doesn't have to tell you much about the next, since a different customer can sit behind each one.
GE's freight ran through more than Legacy's Georgia fleet. Legacy's Bowling Green drivers ran drop yard transportation for General Electric between its Georgia and Louisville plants, Teamsters Local 89's 2026 newsletter says, and the Louisville page describes an appliance and electronics fleet in the same state. None of these sources says whether Kentucky's April notice rests on the same contract as the Crandall closing in Georgia's WARN entry, so a Kentucky driver can't take the Georgia handoff as their own.
On GE's transportation work, the job has sometimes outlasted the contractor. The company performing it occasionally changes while the drivers stay in place, largely carried over to whoever wins the bid from GE, Local 89 said, and Crandall's 2026 handoff fits that account. Keeping the work doesn't settle the terms, though, since a change of employer is a change in who sets the pay and the benefits. The Bowling Green drivers named job security, wages and health care as their main concerns, and the newsletter tied the job security worry to those changes in who employs them, which is the risk a carry-over leaves open.
Jeffersonville shows what different terms can look like. In 2020 a longtime Legacy worker there told WAVE she wasn't sure she would reapply, because a temp job is unstable. The work was set to continue, so her doubt was about the terms she would hold it on. Being rehired by the next contractor is still a new hire with a new employer, whatever the old job was. If a new contractor has been named for your account and is filling jobs, whether it takes you on directly or through a temp agency deserves as much weight as the wage it quotes, and so does the date its health coverage starts.
Union coverage has differed from site to site. Some of the Jeffersonville employees had union representation, though none had bumping rights, Inside INdiana Business reported. Tennessee's WARN memo for Selmer says none of its four employees was covered by a bargaining agreement or had bumping rights, and Georgia's entry answered no on union representation at Crandall. In Bowling Green, Legacy's truck drivers voted unanimously in April 2026 to be represented by Local 89, which said it would contact the company about bargaining dates for a first contract once the election was formally certified.
Selmer's employees were also assigned rapid response help, a team Workforce Innovations Inc. runs for Tennessee's southwest region, told by the state to work with Legacy and the employees on services, with the Southwest Local Workforce Development Board in charge of the follow-up, the same memo says. For a Legacy job in California, Kentucky, Indiana or Georgia, the state's claim rules start at California unemployment benefits, Kentucky, Indiana or Georgia.

What to do if you're laid off from Legacy Supply Chain
- File for unemployment in the state where you worked. Benefits run from your filing date, and severance usually doesn't block you. Legacy Supply Chain's biggest hubs: California, Kentucky, Indiana, Georgia. Somewhere else? Every state is here.
- Apply for financial and hardship assistance. Unemployment supplements income, but food benefits, health coverage and utility help are often available as well. Here's some of what Legacy Supply Chain's hub states run: California, Kentucky, Indiana, Georgia, and every other state is here.
- Mind the health insurance window. Losing coverage opens a 60-day special enrollment period, and an ACA plan usually beats unsubsidized COBRA. Compare your options before the employer coverage lapses, and read how the COBRA clocks run if you are weighing it seriously.
- Get your real runway number. Severance plus savings divided by reality. The calculator takes five minutes.
- Know which clocks are already running. Severance review windows, COBRA election, visa grace periods, and 401(k) rollovers all run on federal deadlines that started at termination. All five deadlines are here.
