Laid off from Teva Pharmaceuticals.
Teva's American layoffs show up site by site, from an Irvine injectables plant halted after an FDA inspection to a Virginia factory sending some of its work overseas. In Salt Lake City, several notices carry the Actavis name Teva acquired with Allergan's generics business instead of its own.

The most recent Teva Pharmaceuticals layoff we've found
In June 2026, Teva announced Israeli layoffs at TAPI, the drug-ingredient business it put up for sale in 2024, after no buyer emerged, Calcalist reported, and said it was still weighing options that include a sale.
What Teva Pharmaceuticals layoffs have meant for employees
Teva's own year-end headcounts show the American side of its cost cutting in aggregate. Its 2025 annual report shows a smaller US workforce at the close of each year from 2023 to 2025. That can't be read as a layoff tally, since hiring and quits move the same numbers, but it does show which way the US staff has been going. The 2025 programs were still booking costs in 2026, and Teva's second-quarter 2026 report put first-half restructuring costs mainly down to headcount reduction. Teva expects those programs to reduce its workforce by about 8% by the end of 2027, a company-wide figure measured against its global headcount at the end of 2024. The US numbers are year-end snapshots of one region, so they show where the American staff stood rather than how that global target lands at any site.
Two of the American cuts on record had local stories behind them, an FDA inspection and a production pause at Irvine that Fierce Pharma covered, and work bound overseas from Forest, as WDBJ7 reported. Teva had already moved two of Irvine's drugs to other Teva sites by the time it said the plant wouldn't restart, and at Forest a Virginia Career Works official told the station that workers might not be aware of support such as training and wage subsidies. For someone at a Teva plant, those two cases tie a cut to things happening at the site itself, an inspection's findings and products or work moving elsewhere, alongside any company-wide target.
Teva put its 2017 promises to staff in writing, severance as local rules required and outplacement help for people it let go plus a pledge to fill open positions from inside the company first, in Kåre Schultz's email to staff, and the restructuring release that day said the 2017 bonus wouldn't be paid. In the record, the 2025 programs show up as accounting instead, restructuring expenses of $225 million for 2025, counted for the whole company. If your Teva job is ending and a posting opens elsewhere in the company, applying for it lines up with the internal-first approach the company described in 2017, though that pledge was made for the earlier plan.
The Salt Lake City notices carry two names, and that matters if you're tracing one in our WARN tracker. April's and November's 2025 notices carry Actavis Laboratories rather than Teva, a name that traces to Actavis Generics, the Allergan generics business Teva bought. If a layoff letter from Salt Lake City says Actavis Laboratories, it's from Teva's own unit, and Utah's rules for a claim are on Utah unemployment benefits.
At Neot Hovav in Israel, Teva's severance terms were set through bargaining. In 2017, after talks with the Histadrut labor federation, Teva cut the planned layoffs there and promised better severance terms, Globes reported, and the agreement promised everyone cut a two-to-six-month adjustment period and the company's help finding work. Calcalist says the 2026 TAPI cuts at the same plant were to be phased in under a union deal. If you're negotiating a Teva package on your own, negotiating a severance agreement is a place to start.
The 2018 Pennsylvania notices reached sites around what was then Teva's North American headquarters in North Wales, and the Philadelphia Inquirer noted they were listed as layoffs rather than closures. Teva then employed about 2,000 people in the region, the paper said, and earlier reports had it planning to cut more than 10 percent of its US workforce. Teva's 2025 annual report lists a principal executive office in Parsippany, New Jersey. If your job was in either state, Pennsylvania's and New Jersey's claim rules are on Pennsylvania unemployment benefits and New Jersey unemployment benefits.

What to do if you're laid off from Teva Pharmaceuticals
- File for unemployment in the state where you worked. Benefits run from your filing date, and severance usually doesn't block you. Teva Pharmaceuticals's biggest hubs: Utah, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, California. Somewhere else? Every state is here.
- Apply for financial and hardship assistance. Unemployment supplements income, but food benefits, health coverage and utility help are often available as well. Here's some of what Teva Pharmaceuticals's hub states run: Utah, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, California, and every other state is here.
- Mind the health insurance window. Losing coverage opens a 60-day special enrollment period, and an ACA plan usually beats unsubsidized COBRA. Compare your options before the employer coverage lapses, and read how the COBRA clocks run if you are weighing it seriously.
- Get your real runway number. Severance plus savings divided by reality. The calculator takes five minutes.
- Know which clocks are already running. Severance review windows, COBRA election, visa grace periods, and 401(k) rollovers all run on federal deadlines that started at termination. All five deadlines are here.
Teva Pharmaceuticals layoff and severance questions
Is Teva laying off employees in 2026?
Teva announced Israeli layoffs at its TAPI drug-ingredient unit in June 2026, Calcalist reported, and Teva's June 2026 quarterly report shows $63 million of restructuring costs for 2026's first half, mainly through headcount reduction. There's no 2026 Teva notice in our WARN tracker.
What severance has Teva given laid-off employees?
In Israel, Teva's 2017 agreement with the Histadrut union at its Neot Hovav plant set voluntary severance at 300% to 500% compensation and enlarged severance of up to 500%, Globes reported. For US layoffs, CEO Kåre Schultz's 2017 email promised severance under local requirements plus outplacement services, but the record holds no US formula. If a Teva package you're offered leaves out outplacement, that email is a written instance of the company promising it.
How many WARN notices has Teva filed?
Teva's names appear on 18 filings in our WARN tracker, spread across California, Illinois, Kansas, New Jersey, Utah and Virginia, under Teva's own name, Teva Parenteral Medicines and Actavis Laboratories. Teva also gave Pennsylvania notice of 208 layoffs in January 2018, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.
How many US jobs did Teva cut in 2025?
The 2025 notices in our WARN tracker, all from Salt Lake City, listed 337 jobs. Separately, Teva's 2025 annual report shows its US workforce, not counting contractors, falling by a net 491 to 4,613 over the year by our arithmetic, a change that mixes in hiring and departures and isn't a layoff count, and the report ties 2025's lower headcount to the programs announced that May.
