Levy Restaurants layoff history
Levy staffs kitchens, stands and clubs inside stadiums, arenas and convention centers owned by somebody else, so a Levy job can end because the building changed operators rather than because the company shrank. That's what happened at Allegiant Stadium in 2025, where the whole Levy operation closed. Our tracker holds 25 all-time Levy filings, and 1 covering 1,102 jobs since the start of 2025, and it holds nothing for 2026. In the same weeks it shut the stadium operation, Levy was still the concessionaire at T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Las Vegas Ballpark and Lee's Family Forum.
Allegiant Stadium is the round with the most on the record. Levy had run concessions there since the building opened, hired by the Raiders in 2019 while it was still going up, and on February 20, 2025 it told Nevada it was closing the operation entirely. The filing covered 1,102 jobs, heaviest on bartenders at 216, then servers at 140, cashiers at 94, supervisors at 87 and dishwashers at 83. Employment ended March 31, and Oak View Group had the food and beverage from April 1. Levy said the common ownership interest of both the Raiders and Oak View Group was impossible to overcome, which is a boardroom sentence with about a thousand household budgets behind it.
What shaped how that landed was the contract in the room. The Culinary Union says Oak View Group assumed the union agreement covering more than 730 cooks, servers, bartenders and concessions workers at the stadium in February 2025, so the contract outlasted the employer whose name had been on it. That group bargained into a second year, picketed the new operator in March 2026 with a petition signed by more than 200 workers, and announced a tentative agreement on July 9, 2026. On the hiring side, the president of OVG Hospitality said existing staff would come first, part-time as well as full-time, and open calls ran in Las Vegas while Levy was still serving events. A count of who came back isn't in the reporting we track.
Los Angeles carries two Levy records from that same year, and nothing on this record joins them. Levy announced in September 2020 that it had taken the hospitality partnership at The Music Center, the performing arts campus downtown, and on September 8, 2025 The Music Center announced a multi-year agreement with Sodexo Live! covering food and beverage across its four venues and restaurants. That announcement named no previous partner and said nothing about the existing staff. California's WARN report separately lists a permanent closure notice filed by Levy on July 9, 2025 for 276 jobs at a North Grand Avenue address in Los Angeles County, with employment ending September 10, and the state records the employer as Levy without naming a venue.
The rest is procedure worth knowing before you need it. Notice has to reach your representative where you have one, plus the state dislocated worker unit and your local government's top elected official. California sets its own terms, counting an employee as someone employed at least 6 months of the 12 before notice at an establishment of 75 or more. If your letter ran short, that alone settles nothing. The Department of Labor names three situations where less than 60 days can be allowed, each with its own conditions and reach, a faltering company, unforeseeable business circumstances and a natural disaster, and whether any of them reaches a given notice is a question about that notice. An employer found liable may owe back pay and benefits for the period of the violation, up to 60 days, decided in federal district court rather than at the Department of Labor, which has no standing in an enforcement action. Start with your letter and its dates, then your union representative if your venue has one, then the operator whose name goes up next.
Reporting on previous Levy Restaurants layoff rounds
July 2025, a Los Angeles closure notice · A California WARN report entry dated July 9 covering 276 jobs, a permanent closure in Los Angeles County at a North Grand Avenue address, with employment ending September 10
Terms not published. California records the employer as Levy and names no venue, so compare the address on your own notice against that one.
February 2025, Allegiant Stadium · A Nevada filing dated February 20 covering 1,102 jobs, every Levy job at the stadium, with employment ending March 31 and Oak View Group running food and beverage from April 1
Terms not published. The letter held out a move to another Levy venue or a Compass Group role, and ruled out bumping since nothing at that address stayed open. The arriving operator said existing staff would come first, part-timers included.
June 2020, Fiserv Forum and the Wisconsin Center District · 72 jobs ending across two Milwaukee venues on August 1, 47 at Fiserv Forum and 25 at the Wisconsin Center District, with 77 more facing lower pay, fewer hours, or both
Terms not published. The company wrote that further warning wasn't practicable, citing league announcements that teams wouldn't play before fans and directives shutting down large events.
How Levy Restaurants's layoffs compare to other companies
Oak View Group took the Allegiant Stadium work and Sodexo Live! took the Music Center agreement. Whoever holds a venue contract next does its hiring, so that company's recruiter matters more to your next paycheck than Levy's.
What to do after being laid off from Levy Restaurants
- File for unemployment in the state where you worked. Benefits run from your filing date, and severance usually doesn't block you. Levy Restaurants's biggest hubs: Nevada, California, Wisconsin. Somewhere else? Every state is here.
- Apply for financial and hardship assistance. Unemployment supplements income, but food benefits, health coverage and utility help are often available as well. Here's some of what Levy Restaurants's hub states run: Nevada, California, Wisconsin, and every other state is here.
- Mind the health insurance window. Losing coverage opens a 60-day special enrollment period, and an ACA plan usually beats unsubsidized COBRA. Compare your options before the employer coverage lapses, and read how the COBRA clocks run if you are weighing it seriously.
- Get your real runway number. Severance plus savings divided by reality. The calculator takes five minutes.
- Know which clocks are already running. Severance review windows, COBRA election, visa grace periods, and 401(k) rollovers all run on federal deadlines that started at termination. All five deadlines are here.
Levy Restaurants layoff and severance questions
My Levy job ended when the venue switched operators. Was that a layoff?
That depends on your own notice, and the documented example is Allegiant Stadium. Closing that operation, Levy told Nevada the separation looked permanent, with bumping ruled out because nothing at that address stayed open. The company kept running its other Las Vegas venues at the time. Our tracker holds 25 all-time Levy filings and 1 covering 1,102 jobs since the start of 2025. Read the address and the reason on your own letter, since those two lines decide which ending this was.
Does the incoming concessionaire have to hire Levy's crew?
Nothing on this record obliges one to. At Allegiant Stadium the president of OVG Hospitality said the company would reach every concessions, premium, culinary and bartending worker and put existing employees first, part-time as well as full-time. The Culinary Union says Oak View Group also took on the contract covering more than 730 workers there. A rehire count for those jobs isn't in the reporting we track, so put your questions about wage, seniority and a start date to the new operator's recruiter.
I only work event days. Does WARN cover me?
Partly, and the split matters for venue work. Federal regulations say part-time employees aren't counted when deciding whether a closing or mass layoff reaches the thresholds, and say those workers are due notice all the same. The Department of Labor sizes an employer without counting people who worked fewer than six months in the last twelve or fewer than 20 hours a week, so a stand you work fifteen nights a season can sit outside the number that triggered the notice while still carrying a right to it. California measures its own coverage by tenure instead, at least 6 months of the 12 before notice.
Did Levy pay severance when it left Allegiant Stadium?
Nothing in the reporting we track carries a per-worker figure. The Allegiant letter offered a move to another Levy venue or a Compass Group role instead, and said the company hoped many of those listed would find one. Your own paperwork governs your case. A short notice period is a separate question from severance, and an employer found liable under WARN may owe back pay and benefits for the violation period, up to 60 days, decided in federal district court.
What happens to my union contract when the venue changes companies?
That turns on the agreement and the deal that follows it, so ask your representative rather than assume. At Allegiant Stadium the Culinary Union says Oak View Group took on the existing contract for more than 730 cooks, servers, bartenders and concessions workers in February 2025, and that group announced a tentative new agreement on July 9, 2026. Levy's 2020 Wisconsin notices show the other shape, where terminated Wisconsin Center District workers had no representation, those losing hours were represented by Workers United SEIU, and the Fiserv Forum crew had no union either.
Where do I file for unemployment after being laid off from Levy Restaurants?
In the state where you worked, not where the company is headquartered. Levy Restaurants's biggest U.S. hubs are Nevada, California, Wisconsin. Severance usually doesn't block you from filing, and benefits run from your filing date, so file the same week.
Is it OK to file for unemployment after a layoff at Levy Restaurants?
Yes. Unemployment insurance is funded by payroll taxes employers pay on wages, the claim never appears on credit reports or background checks, and future employers cannot see it. If the hesitation itself is the obstacle, whether filing is OK has its own article.
What happens to my health insurance after a layoff at Levy Restaurants?
Your plan sets the end date rather than the law, so the separation packet is where that date actually lives, and it is often the last day of the month rather than your last day of work. After coverage ends, COBRA lets you keep the identical plan by paying the whole premium yourself, up to 102 percent of what the plan really costs, which lands as several times the payroll deduction you were used to. You get 60 days to elect, counted from the later of coverage ending or the election notice arriving, and electing reaches the coverage back to the day the old plan stopped so no gap exists. How continuation coverage works walks the timing, and whether to take it rather than a marketplace plan is a separate decision.
Should I sign the severance agreement right away?
First pin down how much review time you actually have. If you're 40 or older, federal law gives you 21 days to consider an agreement that waives age claims, 45 in a group layoff, and a waiver signed under a shorter deadline can be invalid. If you're under 40, no federal window applies and the deadline in your packet may be real, so confirm it in writing and ask for more time if you need it. Use whatever window you have to read the release terms, especially non-disparagement and no-lawsuit clauses, and don't stall past a real deadline, because offers can be withdrawn.
Can I collect unemployment if I got severance from Levy Restaurants?
Usually yes, though some states delay benefits until severance pay periods end, and lump sums are treated differently than salary continuation. Check your state's rules on our state benefit pages, and file immediately either way so your claim date is locked in.
