Laid off from VF Corporation.
Since VF launched its Reinvent strategy in 2023, it has combined company-wide reductions with cuts at particular sites. State notices covered planned closings of distribution centers in California and Virginia and two Philadelphia stores, along with layoffs at Vans' Costa Mesa headquarters.

The most recent VF Corporation layoff we've found
In the three months that ended in June 2026, VF recorded $2.4 million of severance and employee-related charges under other approved restructuring initiatives, its quarterly report for June 2026 shows, and said Reinvent's actions were substantially complete by the end of its fiscal 2026 first quarter. That $2.4 million is an accounting cost, not a headcount or an announced round.
What VF Corporation layoffs have meant for employees
Martinsville shows how long one of VF's closing schedules ran. VF made the decision in May 2024, Fashion Dive reported, and the same outlet's January 2025 report said the layoffs there had begun that month, ahead of a closing planned for March. If a closing notice reaches your site, the time from the notice's date to its effective dates is room to start a job search and weigh any chance to move with the work, instead of doing both in a rush.
Two of VF's moves sent work elsewhere rather than ending it. When VF moved its headquarters from Greensboro, North Carolina, to Denver in 2019, as the Denver Gazette recounted, Alameda's staff were offered relocation, by FashionNetwork's account, and VF said Martinsville's shipping would go to its distribution center in Ontario, California, and a third-party logistics firm. Other cuts left the site running. When VF moved to stop apparel decoration at its Appleton facility in 2017, CBS 58 reported, it said the site would stay open, serving its outdoor brands with accounting, finance, credit and customer service work. If you're offered both a move and severance, it's worth pricing the move, the housing and the commute before setting that cost beside the package, and if your function is ending while the site stays open, a role in one of the staying functions is worth weighing the same way.
At Martinsville, severance came out of bargaining. By a union spokesperson's account to Fashion Dive, the Service Employees International Union had negotiated the Martinsville package, and anything more about the closing or where the work went would have to come from VF. Reinvent's own charges were mostly severance and employee-related benefits, 76% of them, but that's a company total. If a union represents you, it's the party placed to say how any package it bargained applies to your job. If you're handed individual terms instead, it's worth weighing them on their own figures rather than against VF's company-wide charges, and negotiating a severance agreement covers the terms people push back on most when a release is attached.
The reorganizations came as company decisions rather than site closings. VF put its late-2023 eliminations under Reinvent, and the 2025 work was a reorganization of select commercial functions worldwide. At Vans' headquarters, the Orange County Business Journal reported, it reached product managers, buyers and designers. If one of those rounds took your job, VF's own description, reorganizing select commercial functions globally, gives you an accurate way to describe the cut to an interviewer, and there's more on wording it in how to explain a layoff.
VF's notices haven't all gone in under VF's name. VF Outdoor filed Martinsville's and the older Alameda, Carlsbad and Wisconsin notices, Vans filed as Vans HQ in 2023 and as Van's Corporate Headquarters in 2025, the Santa Fe Springs center filed under its own name, and VF Corporation filed for the Philadelphia stores. If a notice covered your job, you can look it up in our WARN tracker under whichever of those names fits your site, and in the state where you worked.
For an unemployment claim, California unemployment benefits, Virginia unemployment benefits and Pennsylvania unemployment benefits match the states where VF's recent notices went, and Colorado unemployment benefits matches the Denver headquarters, which had about 1,000 VF employees in 2023 by published reports the Gazette cited.

What to do if you're laid off from VF Corporation
- File for unemployment in the state where you worked. Benefits run from your filing date, and severance usually doesn't block you. VF Corporation's biggest hubs: California, Virginia, Pennsylvania. Somewhere else? Every state is here.
- Apply for financial and hardship assistance. Unemployment supplements income, but food benefits, health coverage and utility help are often available as well. Here's some of what VF Corporation's hub states run: California, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and every other state is here.
- Mind the health insurance window. Losing coverage opens a 60-day special enrollment period, and an ACA plan usually beats unsubsidized COBRA. Compare your options before the employer coverage lapses, and read how the COBRA clocks run if you are weighing it seriously.
- Get your real runway number. Severance plus savings divided by reality. The calculator takes five minutes.
- Know which clocks are already running. Severance review windows, COBRA election, visa grace periods, and 401(k) rollovers all run on federal deadlines that started at termination. All five deadlines are here.
VF Corporation layoff and severance questions
What severance has VF Corporation given laid-off employees?
Two VF cuts put severance on record. Departing employees at VF Outdoor's Wisconsin facility in 2017 were promised severance packages and help from outplacement services, CBS 58 reported, and at Martinsville in 2024 the Service Employees International Union negotiated a package, a union spokesperson told Fashion Dive. Reinvent's severance and employee-related charges came to about $148 million through June 2026, our arithmetic from VF's quarterly report for June 2026, and none of the three puts an amount or formula on any one person's package.
Why has VF Corporation been laying off employees?
VF has tied its company-wide cuts since 2023 to its Reinvent turnaround. It said the late-2023 eliminations would give it financial flexibility to invest behind its brands, per the Denver Gazette, and called the 2025 reorganization of commercial functions part of its ongoing business turnaround in a statement the Orange County Business Journal quoted. At Martinsville, VF cited efficiency, consolidation and real estate costs, Fashion Dive reported, and WHYY tied the Philadelphia store closings to leases that were ending.
Has VF Corporation filed WARN notices since 2025?
Three VF rows dated since the start of 2025, covering 111 jobs, are in our WARN tracker. The April 29, 2025 date on Vans' filing as Van's Corporate Headquarters, for 82 Costa Mesa headquarters jobs, is the day of its notice, while the two Philadelphia store rows, 17 and 12 jobs, carry Pennsylvania's effective dates of January 25 and February 18, 2025, which mark when those layoffs were set to take effect.
Is VF Corporation laying off employees in 2026?
None of VF's filings in our WARN tracker carries a 2026 date. VF's June 2026 10-Q shows severance and employee-related charges continuing in the quarter that ended in June 2026, under approved initiatives other than Reinvent.
