Laid off from Victoria's Secret.
Victoria's Secret has spent a decade remaking its brand. Several of its resets cost home office staff their jobs, and others planned store closings and staffing changes. If a reset cost you your job, or you're still waiting to hear, there's no easy way through it.

The most recent Victoria's Secret layoff we've found

What Victoria's Secret layoffs have meant for employees
The split from L Brands reached people's jobs before it was finished. In July 2020, L Brands tied its home office reduction to decentralizing shared functions "in support of creating standalone companies," its July 2020 release said, and the company's 2022 10-K note later put its share of severance and related costs at $51 million. The company began trading on its own on August 3, 2021, by the account in its 2025 10-K. If your job was in one of those shared functions, the reasons on record are the split and the overhead cuts that came with it, which can help when you're explaining a layoff to the next employer.
When Victoria's Secret put its namesake, Pink and beauty businesses under one leader in 2022, chief executive Martin Waters called it time "to reimagine our leadership structure," a statement Retail Dive quoted, and the jobs that went were management roles. If you held one of them, it can be hard to square that language with losing the job itself, and that gap can sting. The reorganizing didn't stop there. Severance followed a reorganization in 2023, a new chief executive and two eliminated executive roles in 2024 and more leadership changes in 2025, by the account of its 2025 10-K note, and its second-quarter 10-Q records more of it through the first half of 2026.
Most of Victoria's Secret's people work in stores, and store staffing has been a cost target before. When L Brands laid out its July 2020 cost cuts, it listed changes to the store "management structure and the labor model" beside the closings, in the same release that announced the home office cuts. A change to how stores are managed and staffed can reach people whose jobs continue, so if your hours or your role at a store changed instead of ending, it's worth asking how that change affects any benefits you have.
The announced Kettering shutdown gave employees several months of lead time, which can help with a job search and still means a long stretch of working toward a scheduled last day. The company also called the layoffs permanent. If you were part of it and are trying to find the notice that WYSO described, it went to Ohio under the name VS Direct Fulfillment, which matters if you're searching a state list for Victoria's Secret.
Adore Me's people have their own question mark. After a $120 million write-down on certain Adore Me assets, finance chief Scott Sekella said in March that the company continues to assess the business and explore opportunities to "optimize it within our portfolio," as Retail Dive reported. If you work there, hearing your employer describe a review like that can be unsettling.
The package L Brands documented in 2020 applied to that reduction and doesn't establish what a later round offered, so whatever comes with a later layoff is worth reading on its own terms. If you were let go in Ohio, where five of our tracker's filings and the Kettering notice were filed, Ohio unemployment benefits lays out how a claim works there; if you worked at a store in another state, unemployment benefits by state can point you to yours. How COBRA works covers keeping a health plan going after a job ends. And if severance is part of an offer, negotiating a severance agreement goes through the terms worth asking about before you decide.

What to do if you're laid off from Victoria's Secret
- File for unemployment in the state where you worked. Benefits run from your filing date, and severance usually doesn't block you. Victoria's Secret's biggest hubs: Ohio, California. Somewhere else? Every state is here.
- Apply for financial and hardship assistance. Unemployment supplements income, but food benefits, health coverage and utility help are often available as well. Here's some of what Victoria's Secret's hub states run: Ohio, California, and every other state is here.
- Mind the health insurance window. Losing coverage opens a 60-day special enrollment period, and an ACA plan usually beats unsubsidized COBRA. Compare your options before the employer coverage lapses, and read how the COBRA clocks run if you are weighing it seriously.
- Get your real runway number. Severance plus savings divided by reality. The calculator takes five minutes.
- Know which clocks are already running. Severance review windows, COBRA election, visa grace periods, and 401(k) rollovers all run on federal deadlines that started at termination. All five deadlines are here.
Victoria's Secret layoff and severance questions
What severance has Victoria's Secret given laid-off employees?
When L Brands announced about 850 home office cuts in July 2020, its July 2020 release said departing associates were getting a package that included severance, continuing access to health benefits and outplacement. Victoria's Secret's 2022 10-K note gives severance only as company totals, $29 million for the July 2022 restructuring among them, so no single person's amount shows there. If a package comes with your layoff, it's worth asking how the number was worked out and when health coverage stops.
Has Victoria's Secret filed WARN notices for its layoffs?
Our WARN tracker holds 10 filings, every one from 2020, counting companies Victoria's Secret owns today, among them Mast Technology Services, an IT services company it listed as a subsidiary in June 2021. Five were filed in Ohio on July 29 of that year. The 2024 notice for the Kettering call center, which WYSO reported in January, isn't among them, because the tracker holds no Ohio filings from 2023 through 2025.
Has Victoria's Secret been closing stores?
Yes. It closed 31 of its U.S. stores and opened 15 during 2025, leaving 766 company-operated, by the count in its 2025 10-K. The plan L Brands announced in 2020, which CNBC reported, covered about 250 stores in the U.S. and Canada. If your store is on a closing list, it's worth asking whether a nearby store has hours for you and what happens to your benefits.
