Laid off from CACI.

Layoffs at CACI have landed on particular places, several of them military bases, one notice at a time. The newest, in 2026, came in a year when CACI reported a higher companywide headcount and kept making acquisitions.

The most recent CACI layoff we've found

In June 2026, CACI notified Tennessee of a layoff at Millington's Naval Support Activity, the state's June 15 memo shows. Companywide, CACI had about 27,000 employees at June 30, its fiscal 2026 annual report said that August.

What CACI layoffs have meant for employees

CACI's government work comes through contracts, and its fiscal 2026 annual report lays out the cycle they follow. When a contract expires and the customer still needs the service, there's frequently a competitive rebid, and the company says there's no assurance it will win any particular bid or replace business it loses. Variations in its business may occur when major contracts expire, until they're renewed or new work comes in, the same report says, while terminations for the government's convenience have been rare. When a CACI filing in our WARN filings tracker names the place where you work, it's worth getting clear on which contract you were working under and whether that work was rebid or ended.

Some places recur in the tracker. Norfolk, Fort Detrick and Springfield, Virginia have each had more than one CACI filing, some of them a year or two apart, so an earlier filing in one of those places hasn't always been the last one there. If you work in one of them, you can look back at the earlier CACI filings there in the tracker. The filer names shift from one notice to the next, among them CACI Technologies, CACI-ISS, CACI, Inc. - Federal and, once, CACI NAVSEA03S Digital & Industrial Operations, but each is a CACI name, and each is a name to try if you search a state's own WARN list.

CACI kept buying companies through its 2026 fiscal year, eight in three years by the annual report's count. Separately, the Six3 Advanced Systems, TICOM Geomatics, Ascent Vision Technologies and Mastodon Design plans were merged into the $MART Plan at the start of 2024, according to the $MART Plan's 2025 report, with their participants' accounts transferred into it. If you had an account in one of those four plans, it was moved into the $MART Plan, and the same report put the company match, when it's made, at 50% of the first 8% of pay that eligible participants defer.

For the Millington workers, Tennessee has already named who handles the follow-up. The Greater Memphis rapid response team, which the Greater Memphis Chamber employs, has been notified so that it can coordinate services with CACI and the affected employees, Tennessee's June 15 memo says, and the Greater Memphis Local Workforce Development Board will be responsible for overseeing and following up on rapid response and dislocated worker services for this layoff. If you're one of the workers on that notice, those are the two local bodies the state has put on it, one to coordinate services and one to oversee them.

The three newest notices with a state record behind them, at Fort Detrick, Shaw Air Force Base and Millington, were all classified as permanent, as a permanent layoff or a mass layoff with no recall, in Maryland's 2024 WARN log, South Carolina's 2025 WARN report and Tennessee's memo, which is how each of those records classifies the notice it lists. If you're among the people on one of those notices, that classification is a reason not to count on a recall while you weigh unemployment, another job or any severance that's offered.

CACI's two newest filings went to Tennessee and South Carolina, Tennessee's the only CACI filing of 2026 in the tracker, and Virginia and Maryland have older ones. How a claim is filed in each of those states is set out under Tennessee unemployment benefits, South Carolina unemployment benefits, Virginia unemployment benefits and Maryland unemployment benefits.

What to do if you're laid off from CACI

CACI layoff and severance questions

What severance has CACI given laid-off employees?

No severance amount or formula for CACI staff below the executive level appears in the state notice records, annual reports, proxy or 401(k) plan report we track. Executives are the exception, since CACI's 2026 proxy says its general policy for them provided six months' salary upon involuntary separation without cause in fiscal 2026, alongside separate agreements with three named executives. If you're offered a separation agreement, negotiating severance may be worth a look.

Did CACI lay off workers because of DOGE?

Neither South Carolina's 2025 WARN report entry for CACI's Shaw Air Force Base notice nor Tennessee's June 15, 2026 memo on its Millington notice gives DOGE or any other reason. When CACI reported results on April 23, 2025, it said, according to Technology Business Research, that DOGE had examined seven of its contracts and had told CACI that $1 million of ongoing work was likely to be canceled.

How many WARN notices has CACI filed?

Sixteen CACI filings are in the state archives our WARN filings tracker collects, dated 2010 through 2026 and spread across Virginia, Texas, Florida, Maryland, Washington, D.C., Oklahoma, South Carolina and Tennessee. Virginia has six, the most of any state. Two of them came after the start of 2025, covering 184 jobs in South Carolina and Tennessee.

What happens to my CACI 401(k) if I'm laid off?

If you're in the CACI $MART Plan and your job ends, the plan's 2025 report says your own deferrals are always fully vested, while the company match vests with years of continuous service and is fully vested after three years. If you have a plan loan when your job ends, the same report says you can repay it in full before taking a distribution or keep paying it through ACH, and a defaulted loan comes out of your distribution.

Do CACI workers in the Millington layoff have bumping rights?

Non-union-represented employees don't, according to Tennessee's June 15 memo on the Millington notice, and for union-represented employees at the facility the memo says the applicable collective bargaining agreement governs. If you're covered by that agreement, it's worth reading it to see what, if anything, it says about layoff order or recall.
