Laid off from CJ Logistics America.

Nearly every CJ Logistics America filing in our tracker dated since 2025 has been for closing a building outright rather than trimming its staff, and the reasons on record include a customer changing providers. Its earlier notices, from 2000 to 2017, were filed as DSC Logistics.

What CJ Logistics America layoffs have meant for employees

Two state records tie particular CJ closings to a client's decision, a customer changing providers at Dalton in 2025, according to Georgia's WARN record, and a lost contract at Channahon in 2023, one of the closings in our WARN tracker. DSC, the company CJ took over, was founded in Chicago in 1960 as Dry Storage Corporation and built its business running large warehouse operations for food, consumer goods and healthcare companies, CJ's newsroom says, and WFMZ described CJ as a third-party logistics company. If your building's customer is changing providers, the provider that takes over the work is another employer worth approaching, and CJ has pointed laid-off staff toward interviews with an incoming provider before. If you're offered an interview like that, it's a job application like any other, with its own pay and schedule to weigh against anything CJ offers on the way out.

When CJ closes a site, the notice can take in everyone who works there, not only the warehouse crew. Georgia's Dalton record counted every worker at all three addresses as affected, from a general manager and warehouse supervisors to forklift operators, inventory and shipping clerks, customer service reps, local drivers and a senior dispatcher. That record and Illinois's reports on University Park and Channahon all list no union among the affected staff. Among the tracker's rows dated since 2025, the one that isn't a closing is Fontana's, a permanent layoff in California's record.

The last day can differ inside one building. Dalton's notice set two separation dates and University Park's layoffs were scheduled from September into late October, so if your notice gives more than one date, your own can fall anywhere in that span, and coworkers may leave weeks apart. The state copies of CJ's notices are where those site-level details sit. Georgia's entry lists each address with its headcount and dates, Illinois's monthly report gives the schedule and whether bumping rights applied, Pennsylvania's list gives the address and effective dates, and North Carolina's 2026 list and California EDD's report give the address with the notice and effective dates. If your building is in one of those states, its WARN list is the place to find the record for your site.

The tracker's rows from 2000 to 2017 sit in Georgia, Texas and Virginia and carry the DSC Logistics name, the company CJ took over between 2018 and 2020 and rebranded in 2021, and a 2021 Toledo, Ohio row carries both names. If you're looking for an older notice from your site, searching the tracker under DSC Logistics as well as CJ Logistics America covers both eras.

If you'd rather stay with CJ, the record shows it adding space as well as closing it. It began full operations at a 130-dock center in Elwood, Illinois in September 2026, built with the Korea Ocean Business Corporation to serve supply chains including batteries, its September 2026 release said, after opening one in Secaucus, New Jersey in October 2025. When WFMZ reported the Upper Macungie closing, it listed CJ locations in Plainfield Township, Bethlehem and Lower Nazareth Township. Those are places worth checking, though neither source says whether they took on staff from closing buildings.

If your CJ job was in one of the five states behind the tracker's CJ filings since 2025, our pages on California, Georgia, Illinois, North Carolina and Pennsylvania unemployment benefits cover the claim in each.

What to do if you're laid off from CJ Logistics America

CJ Logistics America layoff and severance questions

What severance has CJ Logistics America given laid-off employees?

Neither the state WARN records for CJ's 2025 and 2026 closings nor local reports like WFMZ's and the Peoria Journal Star's give severance terms. What Georgia's Dalton WARN record shows instead is a chance to interview for work with the provider replacing CJ, which CJ told the state every employee would have. If you're weighing a CJ package, there's background on how severance negotiations work.

How many WARN notices has CJ Logistics America filed?

Twenty in our WARN tracker, filed from 2000 to 2026 under CJ's name or DSC Logistics', and 2026 holds more of them than any earlier year. Seven are dated since the start of 2025, covering 758 jobs in five states, though Georgia's Dalton row and Pennsylvania's two carry a layoff or effective date rather than the date each notice reached the state.

Is CJ Logistics America the same company as DSC Logistics?

DSC Logistics is the company CJ Logistics bought and renamed. CJ took majority ownership in August 2018 and full ownership in early 2020, when DSC was combined with other CJ units as CJ Logistics America, the 2021 rebrand release says, and Inside Logistics reported that the business would keep using the DSC name in the U.S. through 2020.

Why is CJ Logistics America closing warehouses?

CJ told Georgia's WARN office that the Dalton customer had decided to switch providers, and Illinois's record of the 2023 Channahon closing, one of CJ's filings in our WARN tracker, names a lost contract. The 2026 Upper Macungie notice cited changing business needs instead, WFMZ reported.
