Laid off from GEODIS.
Inside a GEODIS warehouse, the client whose goods move through it can decide how long the jobs there last. The 2026 Carlisle, Pennsylvania closing was GEODIS's own call, tied in its statement to its priorities and long-term strategy.

What GEODIS layoffs have meant for employees
At a GEODIS warehouse, the layoff letter can name a company that isn't GEODIS. The August 2022 letter to Ohio said its client GOAT Group would "cease all business operations" at the Columbus building and that, "as a result of the Facility's shutdown," GEODIS had to conduct a mass layoff there. Supply Chain Dive has described clients changing or moving their operations as a recurring reason for mass layoffs in contract logistics, and it pointed to CEVA Logistics planning layoffs at its Nashville campus over changes from its customer. If you work in a GEODIS building, news about the client whose goods you handle, such as plans to move or shut down its operations there, can bear on your job, and it's worth following alongside news about GEODIS itself. If you're weighing a job at a GEODIS site, it's worth knowing which client the building serves and how long that client has been there.
Sometimes the work stays inside GEODIS while the building it left is set to close. The Monroe Township customer shifted its work to another GEODIS building in eastern Pennsylvania, a spokesperson told WFMZ, which reported that GEODIS ran two warehouses in Upper Macungie Township and had operations in Allen, Weisenberg and Bethlehem townships. If your site is closing because its client moved to another GEODIS building, one question worth putting to GEODIS is whether that building has roles open to the people losing theirs.
Need It Now Delivers, a final-mile and home delivery company GEODIS acquired in October 2022, according to NJBIZ, ran more than 65 locations and over 300 distribution points when the deal closed. Its June 2025 notices went in under its own name, and only the Maryland filing adds GEODIS beside it. If you worked for Need It Now, a notice for your site may sit under that name rather than GEODIS's, and our WARN tracker can be searched under both. GEODIS's own notices have gone in as GEODIS, GEODIS Logistics and GEODIS LLC.
GEODIS's 2022 Columbus letter shows what one of its notices can hold. It set a window rather than a single day, saying the layoffs would come "no later than October 31, 2022, but no sooner than 60 days from the date of this notice." It listed each job title being cut, with material handlers making up 31 of the 60 jobs, said no union represented the staff and the layoffs carried no "bumping" rights, and named a senior regional HR manager for further information. If you're holding a GEODIS notice, confirming in writing the date your own job ends is worth doing, and if it lists job titles, so is checking that yours is there. If GEODIS offers help finding new work, as its statements on the Kutztown and Monroe Township cuts promised, it's reasonable to ask what that help consists of and how long it lasts, and if it offers you a severance agreement, there's more on negotiating a severance agreement.
New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania and California are where GEODIS units' notices in the tracker cover the most jobs, and New Jersey unemployment benefits, Ohio unemployment benefits, Pennsylvania unemployment benefits and California unemployment benefits lay out how each of those states takes a claim. If your job was in Tennessee, Kentucky, Florida or Maryland, where GEODIS units also filed notices in 2025 or 2026, Tennessee unemployment benefits, Kentucky unemployment benefits, Florida unemployment benefits and Maryland unemployment benefits do the same for those states.

What to do if you're laid off from GEODIS
- File for unemployment in the state where you worked. Benefits run from your filing date, and severance usually doesn't block you. GEODIS's biggest hubs: New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, California. Somewhere else? Every state is here.
- Apply for financial and hardship assistance. Unemployment supplements income, but food benefits, health coverage and utility help are often available as well. Here's some of what GEODIS's hub states run: New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, California, and every other state is here.
- Mind the health insurance window. Losing coverage opens a 60-day special enrollment period, and an ACA plan usually beats unsubsidized COBRA. Compare your options before the employer coverage lapses, and read how the COBRA clocks run if you are weighing it seriously.
- Get your real runway number. Severance plus savings divided by reality. The calculator takes five minutes.
- Know which clocks are already running. Severance review windows, COBRA election, visa grace periods, and 401(k) rollovers all run on federal deadlines that started at termination. All five deadlines are here.
GEODIS layoff and severance questions
What severance has GEODIS given laid-off employees?
For its 2023 Kutztown, Pennsylvania layoffs, GEODIS told Supply Chain Dive it would provide severance to workers unable to find another position in the company before the layoff date. Its statements on the 2025 Monroe Township closing to WFMZ and the 2026 Carlisle closing to ABC27 pledged help with the move to new jobs and mentioned no severance. If you're offered a GEODIS transfer as well as severance, it's worth knowing whether taking the job would affect the payment.
How many WARN notices has GEODIS filed since 2025?
Our WARN tracker counts 11 from GEODIS and Need It Now Delivers since January 2025, covering 1,356 jobs in eight states, five of them in 2026; those are jobs the notices listed, not a count of completed layoffs. New Jersey's list also has a January 2025 notice for 92 Monroe Township jobs, which NJBIA reported and the tracker lacks, so state records hold at least 12.
Is Need It Now Delivers part of GEODIS?
GEODIS bought it. The purchase of the Keasbey, New Jersey delivery company closed on October 11, 2022, adding more than 2,000 employees, NJBIZ reported, and Need It Now Delivers' June 2025 notice to Maryland, in our WARN tracker, still carried the GEODIS name beside its own.
Does GEODIS name the client behind a warehouse closing?
Sometimes. GEODIS's August 2022 letter to Ohio named GOAT Group, which was moving its operations to another East Coast location, and Supply Chain Dive reported that its 2023 Kutztown notice cited Everlane. For the Monroe Township closing, a spokesperson told WFMZ the customer couldn't be named because of nondisclosure agreements.
