Laid off from Genpact.

Genpact manages work for other companies, and its U.S. layoffs have repeatedly followed a client ending a contract or no longer needing the work. Its filings show company-wide restructurings too, in 2020 and 2022. In 2026, Genpact said it was working with clients to hand some work back to them.

The most recent Genpact layoff we've found

On its August 6, 2026 earnings call, chief executive BK Kalra said Genpact was handing back to clients certain content management work and commoditized parts of contact centers, which he called very small parts of the business, over what its CFO put at four to six quarters, an AllMind transcript shows.

What Genpact layoffs have meant for employees

For the Richardson layoffs the Dallas Morning News covered, the Jacksonville closure in the May 2021 Jax Daily Record and the Dublin cuts in Genpact's Ohio WARN letter, the cause on record is a client. Genpact has called that standard practice, telling the paper in a January 2024 report that "responding to rapidly changing client needs is a standard part of Genpact's agile operations model." Asked about its 2024 cuts in Jacksonville and Chicago, it gave the Jax Daily Record and Crain's Chicago Business one answer, "We do not share details about our confidential client engagements." If you work on a Genpact account, the client's own plans and timing are part of your job's outlook, because in each of these cases the client's decision came first and the layoff followed it.

The end of an account hasn't always been the end of the work for the people on it. The Ohio letter expected many of the employees it covered to get job offers from the client and be hired to keep doing similar work, though it said that could change. Genpact's 2025 10-K describes TalentMatch, a program it says has let it identify employees to redeploy as clients' needs change, and in 2018 it encouraged laid-off Richardson mortgage staff to apply for open positions at the company, the June 2018 Dallas Morning News reported. If the client offers you a job, you can weigh its pay, benefits and start date against any exit terms Genpact puts in writing. If you'd rather stay, applying for open positions elsewhere at Genpact is a step the company itself has pointed to, and in Richardson, where it said in 2023 that it manages services for several clients, that could mean another account in the same office.

Ohio's list shows how far up a cut can reach. It ran from a business analyst to a vice president, with 32 senior managers and 25 managers between them, and none had bumping rights. Remote jobs were on these lists too. Most of the Jacksonville staff were working from home when that 2021 closing was set, so it reached people who weren't working in the building. In this record, then, neither a senior title nor a home office kept a job off a Genpact notice once the client work behind it ended.

Company-wide cuts appear in Genpact's filings as restructuring, which its 2022 10-K records for 2020 and 2022, while its 2025 10-K shows no restructuring charge in 2024 or 2025. So the 2024 notices came in a year Genpact booked no restructuring at all, and the company-wide severance totals in its filings don't describe them. That 10-K also says Genpact is adding "digital labor" in the form of AI agents over time. In August 2026 Kalra, its chief executive, told analysts he expects revenue and headcount growth to decouple over the longer term, an AllMind transcript shows, though he didn't describe that as a layoff or tie it to any job.

Most of the jobs in Genpact's filings in our WARN tracker were in Texas, Florida and Illinois, and filing a claim in each is covered on Texas unemployment benefits, Florida unemployment benefits and Illinois unemployment benefits. If your job was in Genpact's Wisconsin WARN letter or its Ohio letter, Wisconsin unemployment benefits and Ohio unemployment benefits cover those states.

Genpact layoff and severance questions

What severance has Genpact given laid-off employees?

In 2018 Genpact said it gave severance packages to the 124 Richardson mortgage workers it laid off, the Dallas Morning News reported, without naming an amount. Its 2022 10-K puts company-wide severance at about $15.4 million in 2020 and $17.1 million in 2022, totals rather than any one person's package. In India, its 2025 10-K describes a gratuity plan under Indian law as providing vested employees a lump sum on termination based on salary and length of employment.

Is Genpact laying off workers in 2026?

Our WARN tracker holds no Genpact filing dated 2026, its newest being January 2025's Wisconsin notice, and the August 2026 earnings call named no layoff round. On that call a Baird analyst said employees were down maybe a couple percent from the prior quarter, and chief executive BK Kalra replied that Genpact was taking "a very disciplined approach to headcount," an AllMind transcript shows.

How many WARN notices has Genpact filed?

Our WARN tracker counts 14 filings by Genpact entities from December 2013 to January 2025, under the names Genpact LLC, Genpact US Services, Genpact Mortgage Services and Genpact RW Services.
