Laid off from Under Armour.

Under Armour's cuts have reached Baltimore headquarters staff, distribution center crews and, in 2020, store workers it said it would lay off temporarily during the pandemic. It gave job counts for its 2018 and 2020 plans but declined to give one when its newest plan began in 2024.

The most recent Under Armour layoff we've found

In May 2026, Under Armour's board added up to $50 million to the restructuring plan's expected charges, and by June 30 the plan had $266.3 million recorded against it, the company's June 2026 quarterly note shows.

What Under Armour layoffs have meant for employees

Most of the charges in Under Armour's latest restructuring sit outside its employee severance and benefits estimate. Of the up to $305 million the plan carried after its May 2026 increase, about $46 million in cash and $7 million in non-cash charges are employee severance and benefits, the company's June 2026 restructuring note shows, and the rest covers contract terminations, facilities, software, impairments and what it calls transformational initiatives. That severance and benefits estimate has grown, though more slowly than the plan. It stood at $22 million of a $70 million to $90 million estimate when the plan was announced in May 2024, the Baltimore Banner reported, and it went up with each enlargement after that, so by our arithmetic it has more than doubled while shrinking from a quarter to a third of the plan to about a sixth. For anyone weighing a package, negotiating severance goes through which terms tend to have room to move.

Under Armour's target for finishing the plan has moved later. In November 2025 the company expected the plan to be substantially complete as fiscal 2026 closed, its November 2025 filing says, and the June 2026 note gives December 31, 2026 instead, about nine months later by our count. An earlier plan's dates didn't line up either. The 2018 reduction was expected to be completed by March 31, 2019, Retail Dive reported from a company release, while the Maryland filing for the headquarters layoffs that were part of it gave an expected window of March 8 to June 30, ending three months past that target, according to Technical.ly. Both are expectations, the company's for the whole cut and the state filing's for one site.

In 2020 Under Armour set different terms for temporary layoffs and for job cuts that came with severance. The store and distribution teammates set for temporary layoffs that April had been paid up to four weeks of full pay since the crisis started, and the layoffs would come with roughly two months of company-paid health coverage for eligible teammates, its April 3, 2020 release said, while the reduction it added that September, mostly of corporate jobs, carried severance money in the restructuring, according to a September 2020 filing. If a layoff you're told about is called temporary, the end of any company-paid coverage is the date your plans hinge on, and a return date, if one is given, is the other.

The Curry Brand split moved quickly for the people closest to it. Its core leadership team was laid off less than a month after the November 2025 announcement, according to people close to the situation who spoke to Sole Retriever, while other Curry staff were reassigned into hybrid roles helping wind the partnership down. On that account, the separation ended some jobs outright and moved others into roles that still touch the Curry business.

Under Armour's own distribution network is smaller than it was. Rialto was one of the company's primary distribution centers when the closing was announced, Retail Dive reported, and the March 2026 exit target came about 18 months after that announcement. With it gone, the fiscal 2026 annual report lists two primary distribution sites it leases, at Sparrows Point in Maryland and Mount Juliet in Tennessee, plus outside logistics firms running its centers abroad, and about 900 of its roughly 14,100 employees worked in distribution as of March 31, 2026. If you worked at Rialto, that state's claim rules sit at California unemployment benefits; for Sparrows Point they're at Maryland unemployment benefits, and Mount Juliet's are at Tennessee unemployment benefits.

Under Armour layoff and severance questions

What severance has Under Armour given laid-off employees?

When Under Armour cut corporate staff in June 2023, it said they would receive severance, healthcare coverage and career outplacement help, Retail Dive reported. For the April 2020 temporary layoffs, it said it would cover about two months of health benefits for benefit-eligible teammates, according to an April 3, 2020 release. If a package comes with health coverage, its end date is worth having in hand while you weigh what comes next, including COBRA where it applies.

Did Under Armour close its Rialto distribution center?

Yes. Under Armour said in September 2024 it planned to close the Rialto, California center, Retail Dive reported, and it exited the facility during its fiscal 2026 as part of the restructuring, per its fiscal 2026 annual report. Rialto had shown up in our WARN tracker twice before, in February 2019 and April 2020.

Is Under Armour still laying off employees in 2026?

Under Armour's restructuring was still underway in 2026. In May its board approved up to $50 million more in charges and raised the plan's cash severance and benefits estimate to about $46 million, from about $34 million in its November 2025 filing, and the company puts the plan's substantial completion at December 31, 2026, its quarterly filing for June 2026 shows. Neither filing gives a number for 2026 layoffs or announces a 2026 layoff round, and that December date is the company's target for finishing the plan's charges.
