Laid off from Analog Devices.

Analog Devices' SEC filings record severance in every fiscal year since 2019, while its own layoff notices in our tracker come only from California, in 2020, 2022 and 2023. The notes on special charges in those filings are the steadier record of its cuts, and they count severance in dollars.

The most recent Analog Devices layoff we've found

Severance costs booked in the quarter that ended January 31, 2026 are ADI's newest on record, and its August 2026 10-Q shows only payments against them in the two quarters through August 1, 2026.

What Analog Devices layoffs have meant for employees

If you were covered by Maxim's change-in-control severance plan when a Maxim-era job ended, its arithmetic is short enough to check by hand. An exempt employee below executive director with six years in, or 72 full months, would have been due 24 weeks of base salary under the plan's formula. The plan also cut its payment dollar for dollar for any part of a WARN notice period an employee was excused from working, so a lump sum that comes in under the formula may reflect notice pay rather than an error. Base salary, full months of service and any excused notice days are the three numbers the check needs.

The Hillview shutdown shows how a long closing has worked at ADI. The Milpitas fab came with Linear Technology, and ADI's fiscal 2021 10-K says the charges covered one-time termination benefits for the affected employees on top of severance under its regular plan, earned by working through a service period the company required. The notice, as Evertiq reported it, reached staff in mid-December 2020 and expected terminations to run through October 29, 2021. A benefit earned by staying is money a worker gives up by leaving early, so if you're ever handed a closing date with a payment tied to staying until it, that payment belongs in the math when you weigh a job that would start sooner.

The figures in ADI's record measure different things. The February 2025 10-Q put fiscal 2025's first-quarter Global Repositioning charges at $63.9 million, a program total that included severance, and the August 2026 10-Q shows all of fiscal 2026's severance costs through August 1, 2026 booked in its first quarter, with only payments after that. Neither note gives a count of the employees affected, and a quarter's charges can hold costs that aren't severance at all, such as the $15.6 million San Jose sublease impairment early in fiscal 2026. Over a longer stretch, the program's charges had reached $591.6 million cumulatively by November 1, 2025, according to its fiscal 2025 10-K, which ties them to integrating Maxim and consolidating offices. The Boston Business Journal figure, 2,000 fewer workers worldwide in November 2024 than a year earlier, is a net change in headcount rather than a layoff count. If you're sizing up a round, those dollar totals, that headcount change and any one notice's job count can't be swapped for one another.

In Silicon Valley, ADI has been consolidating buildings for years. It sold the Hillview fab in fiscal 2022, the year it chose to move Santa Clara office work to a San Jose property it owns, according to its fiscal 2022 10-K, while the August 2026 10-Q records a sublease of a leased San Jose property early in fiscal 2026. If ADI offers you a seat at another building after a consolidation like those, the commute and any change in your role are part of what the offer is worth, and they're worth working out before you weigh it against leaving.

Every notice in our WARN tracker under Analog Devices' and Maxim's names comes from California or Texas, and Maxim's older Dallas and San Jose ones count with ADI's own because ADI owns Maxim now. Massachusetts enters only as the headquarters state, since ADI is based in Wilmington and the Business Journal counts it among that state's largest employers. California unemployment benefits and Texas unemployment benefits cover the two states where those tracked notices were filed, and Massachusetts unemployment benefits covers the headquarters state.

Your stock and equity

Maxim-era stock got different treatment. For eligible exempt staff let go without cause, Maxim's U.S. severance plan fully vested time-based awards, pro rata for some grants made while the deal was pending, and ADI's newer RSU agreement form leaves its grants out of Maxim's acceleration policy.

What to do if you're laid off from Analog Devices

Analog Devices layoff and severance questions

What severance has Analog Devices given laid-off employees?

ADI's filings say its severance follows its ongoing benefit plan, or statutory requirements abroad, and the notes in its fiscal 2025 10-K and August 2026 10-Q give no per-person formula. One-time termination benefits at the Hillview closing, which the fiscal 2021 10-K describes, went to employees who worked through a required service period, and eligible Maxim U.S. employees had their own published plan.

What severance did Maxim Integrated employees get after the Analog Devices merger?

If you were eligible under Maxim's U.S. change-in-control plan, which excluded part-time, temporary, agency and union-covered workers among others, and lost your job without cause within two years of the August 26, 2021 closing in Maxim's 8-K, the plan set exempt staff below executive director at four weeks' base salary per year of service, counted in full months, and non-exempt staff at two weeks' pay a year, plus 24 or 12 months of health coverage. A release signed within 45 days and not revoked within seven was required.

What happens to my stock if I'm laid off from Analog Devices?

If you hold ADI restricted stock units on the agreement form filed with its first-quarter fiscal 2026 report, units still unvested when your employment ends are cancelled immediately, unless the end comes from death or disability or the equity plan provides otherwise. Death or a disability finding vests them in full.

Has Analog Devices filed WARN layoff notices?

Yes. Its own notices in our WARN tracker are all from California, from a December 2020 Milpitas closing to the Rio Robles notices of November 3, 2023 that the Mercury News covered. Maxim's San Jose and Dallas notices from 2009 to 2017 count too, since ADI owns Maxim. There are none in our tracker since the start of 2025.
