Laid off from V2X.
V2X's layoff notices have each covered one site, most at military bases and NASA's Armstrong center. The 2015 severance plan V2X still files for salaried staff leaves out workers under union contracts, nearly a third of its employees, unless their contract opts in.

The most recent V2X layoff we've found
V2X's newest notice on record went to California in January 2026 and covers the permanent closing of its NASA Armstrong operation in Edwards, according to the state's 2025-26 WARN report.
What V2X layoffs have meant for employees
Federal contracts bring in most of V2X's revenue, and its 2025 annual report warns that some have to be rebid when their terms end, which gives competitors a chance to take market share away. For people working on a V2X contract, that makes the contract itself a source of risk, since jobs tied to work that's rebid or lost can end with it. Keesler is the one V2X notice on record where a state gives that reason, with Mississippi's quarterly WARN report recording the 2023 layoff as the result of a lost contract. Contracts come the other way too, and Vectrus's May 2018 release called the Sheppard base maintenance it had just won new work.
The same annual report counts moving employees from completed contracts to new assignments among the things V2X's profitability depends on. If your severance offer or agreement points to the 2015 Vectrus severance plan and V2X rehires you on another contract while you're receiving payments, that version stops the remaining payments at the rehire date, which is worth weighing against how long the new assignment looks likely to last. That version also says that if a rehired worker is let go again before their prior service is bridged, they're eligible only for the portion they gave up.
That version names regular salaried executive and corporate-level staff in the U.S. as eligible, and says local businesses or divisions are covered but may have different payment schedules. Union contracts covered about 30% of V2X's staff when 2025 closed, and the 2015 version leaves workers under a bargaining agreement out unless the agreement brings them in. It rules out anyone who resigns or retires voluntarily. If you're covered by that version, are holding a notice and are offered work by another contractor at the same site before the notice's effective date, resigning early to take it would end your eligibility. It also pays in installments, trims severance by whatever is paid toward a WARN obligation, and credits years at ITT and Exelis, the companies Vectrus came out of. The 2025 annual report also lists a separate senior executive severance pay plan, amended and restated in December 2024.
Paperwork comes with the money. When Vectrus cut its headquarters staff in 2016, its 2016 annual report said part of the severance had been paid under agreements with the affected employees, and the 2015 version pays only people who sign a release of claims and don't revoke it.
Looking up a notice means knowing the names. V2X is what Vectrus and Vertex Aerospace became in July 2022, and state lists still show its notices under Vectrus Systems, Vertex Aerospace or a site name, so the older names are worth searching too. California's 2024 notice, for one, went in as V2X dba Vertex Aerospace. Older filings went in under ITT, Exelis and L3 unit names, and our WARN tracker counts them for V2X because it follows who owns each unit today.
How much warning the notices gave has varied. The Fort Bragg closure notice came two weeks before its effective date, according to North Carolina's 2022 WARN summary; Vertex's New River notice came about four months ahead, per the state's 2023 summary; and the Armstrong notice came a month ahead, by California's report for 2025-26. If one of these notices reached you, our unemployment benefits pages for California, Texas, Mississippi, North Carolina and Georgia cover the states where V2X's notices have landed.

What to do if you're laid off from V2X
- File for unemployment in the state where you worked. Benefits run from your filing date, and severance usually doesn't block you. V2X's biggest hubs: California, Georgia, North Carolina, Texas. Somewhere else? Every state is here.
- Apply for financial and hardship assistance. Unemployment supplements income, but food benefits, health coverage and utility help are often available as well. Here's some of what V2X's hub states run: California, Georgia, North Carolina, Texas, and every other state is here.
- Mind the health insurance window. Losing coverage opens a 60-day special enrollment period, and an ACA plan usually beats unsubsidized COBRA. Compare your options before the employer coverage lapses, and read how the COBRA clocks run if you are weighing it seriously.
- Get your real runway number. Severance plus savings divided by reality. The calculator takes five minutes.
- Know which clocks are already running. Severance review windows, COBRA election, visa grace periods, and 401(k) rollovers all run on federal deadlines that started at termination. All five deadlines are here.
V2X layoff and severance questions
What severance has V2X given laid-off employees?
Vectrus booked $1.5 million of severance expense on its 2016 headquarters cut, its 2016 annual report says. For eligible salaried U.S. staff let go other than for cause, the 2015 version of its severance plan, which V2X's 2025 annual report still lists, lets the company pay at its discretion, up to 52 weeks of pay absent another determination, and leaves out workers whose terms are set by a union contract unless that contract opts in.
How many WARN notices has V2X filed?
Our WARN tracker has seven filed under the V2X, Vectrus or Vertex Aerospace names and five more from ITT, Exelis and L3 units V2X owns today, filed before it owned them, for 12. North Carolina's 2022 WARN summary lists a 13th outside it, a Vectrus Mission Solutions closure at Fort Bragg, so the total on record is at least 13. The largest, 550 jobs, was a 2014 Exelis layoff at Fort Benning, and the one notice dated 2025 or later is the 62-job Armstrong closure.
Is V2X the same company as Vectrus?
V2X came out of the July 5, 2022 merger of Vectrus, Inc. with Vertex Aerospace Services Holding Corp., as its 2025 annual report records. Notices since have kept the old names, and four of the five in our WARN tracker from after the merger name Vectrus or Vertex Aerospace.
